OKA Distribution: Muğla
We first set out with the goal of sharing the Reading Tree on an online platform. With the request and initiative of the Muğla Provincial Directorate of National Education, we started a project to distribute the Reading Tree book sets to all primary schools in Muğla. The goal was to distribute the OKA sets to all schools and classrooms in Muğla. After intensive work, we printed the books with the support of Ofset Printing House and the cooperation of TEV and Vakıf k12. With the intensive efforts of volunteers and printing house employees, the books were collated into sets and transported to Muğla.
Between October and November 2019, we distributed the books to all schools in Muğla as Vakıf k12 employees and volunteers. During this distribution, we had the opportunity to analyze the needs of schools and students one-to-one. We saw how much all stakeholders need such opportunities and how eager they are to use these materials. These analyses have become an important guide for our future work.
OKA Distribution: Malatya
We realized the second project of Reading Tree covering an entire province in Malatya. With the support of the Malatya Provincial Directorate of National Education, we distributed books to all schools in Malatya in January 2020 as Vakıf k12 employees and volunteers.
In addition to all classrooms, the books we distributed to libraries and especially the complete sets that serve the level differences in unified classes were very positively received by teachers.
OKA Distribution: Ordu - Gaziantep - Diyarbakır - Şanlıurfa
After Malatya, we continued to distribute books in the districts of some provinces according to the requests we received. We completed the distribution of OKA books in Altınordu district of Ordu, Yavuzeli district of Gaziantep, Harran district of Şanlıurfa and 14 of 17 districts of Diyarbakır with our employees and stakeholders who contributed voluntarily. You can see the number of distributions we made in all these districts in the table below.
OKA and Collaborations
Different civil society organizations, donors and foundations have taken the initiative to use OKA for their own projects and support. We have established productive collaborations with these organizations and ensured that OKA is distributed to their target audiences. We would like to thank our stakeholders for choosing us as partners and supporting us in these initiatives that serve the needs of different regions in Türkiye.
